Swansea Country Club hosts 5 Ladies leagues on both the Championship and Par 3 Golf Course(s) as well as two couples leagues. For the last 20 years we have taught over 3k ladies the game of golf through our "How to Get Started" and "Next Step/Intermediate" programs


Swansea CC takes pride in our reputation as a course that is welcoming to women golfers. We host the LPGA Amateur League and are also a member of the Woman’s Golf Association of Massachusetts (WGAM).Whether you are a new golfer wanting to learn to play the game or a more experienced golfer wanting to sharpen your competitive skills, Swansea Country Club offers programs geared to your skill level and demanding time schedule.

All instruction lead by the owner of the Ocean State Golf Academy Russell Johnson and staff.

  • "How to Get Started" Program

    This program is designed for players who have never picked up a club (or have very minimal experience). It focuses on learning the basics, becoming comfortable on the course, understanding terminology and fundamentals, and building relationships with fellow novices.

  • "The Next Step" Program

    This program serves as a building block for "How to Get Started" or is ideal for newer players with prior playing or instructional experience. It aims to elevate fundamentals, teach rules and strategy, and provide a solid springboard for more enjoyable and better golf.

For 2025 we will be offering a new Spin on the Programs as Golf Instruction "101" will be the perfect program for the entry level/novice golfer to start learning the game through core fundamentals.  Our Intermediate Program will be a building block upon prior instruction and or significant playing experience.


The OSGA will be offering a Ladies Bootcamp that incorporates Operation 36 teaching theory into play on the course and instruction.

  • Ladies Golf "101" group instruction

  • Ladies "Intermediate" Program

  • Ladies BOOTCAMP by OSGA

    This program is operated directly through the Ocean State Golf Academy and can be accessed through the below form.  This program is for the player who has significant playing experience but wants to take the game to another level through course management, learning different techniques within the shortgame and more...  Utilizes Operation 36 to fine tune scoring.

Golf "101" is the perfect introductory course for woman looking to learn the game of golf in a perfect introductory Clinic.  You receive the best of both worlds as we blend technology and beauty of oncourse practice and play.


Two sessions will be indoors using the latest in technology utilized by the Ocean State Golf Academy and two sessions at the fantastic practice facilities of Swansea Country Club and our Par 3 Course.


Over 12 different sessions on held on either Monday, Wednesday evenings 5-7pm and Sunday mornings 8:30-10:30am


In the event of inclement weather all sessions will be held indoors at the Ocean State Golf Academy

Ladies "Intermediate" Golf Instruction  is a great building block for the lady who has taken previous instruction or has significant playing experience.  


You receive the best of both worlds as we blend technology and beauty of oncourse practice and play.
